Showers and thunderstorms will develop and overspread the area today and likely continue through the end of the day and into Thursday before ending west to east during the afternoon. Extensive cloud cover will lead to cooler temperatures with daytime readings in the upper 60s to mid 70s. All this will help to keep minimum relative humidity values between 60-80 percent. A persistent east to northeast wind will continue today before briefly switching to the north-northeast on Thursday. Drier conditions prevail from the second half of the day Thursday through most of the daytime hours on Friday before more storms return by Friday afternoon and evening. Minimum relative humidity values on Thursday will be lowest across the Missouri Valley with readings between 50 to 60 percent.
