The first wave of precipitation has developed and is moving through
central and north central South Dakota early this morning,
consisting of widespread weak thunderstorms. This activity will
continue northeast and before weaken around mid day. The next round
of moisture comes with strong thunderstorms that develop west river
in the afternoon, moving into the Missouri valley during the late
evening before proceeding east during the overnight hours, with some
additional risk for strong storms in far eastern South Dakota and
western Minnesota Friday afternoon.

Temperatures will range between mid 70s in far northeast South Dakota
and western Minnesota, to low to mid 80s across the Missouri river
valley.
