Some light rain showers to perhaps a weak isolated thunderstorm will
be possible this morning into the early afternoon, tracking
southwest to northeast across the listening area. Do not expect much
rain out of any showers that develop, up to a few hundredths at
best. More robust chances for rain will come Thursday afternoon
through Friday morning. During that time frame, there is a 50 to 80
percent chance of two inches of rain over eastern South Dakota and a
30 to 60 percent chance over central South Dakota. Probability to
see two inches decreases moving north and west, though all but parts
of north central South Dakota has a better than 50 percent chance to
see at least an inch of rain in total.

Gusty southerly winds will be in place this morning and afternoon
over central and north central South Dakota. Wind gusts during that
time will reach as high as 30 to 40 miles per hour. These strong
winds will create some elevated fire weather concerns west of the
Missouri River. Winds will decreasing beginning in the late
afternoon, continuing to do so through the overnight period.

High temperatures today will range from the upper 60s and low 70s
over northeastern South Dakota and western Minnesota to the mid 70s
west of the Missouri River. Overnight lows tonight will be in the
upper 40s to low 50s across the listening area.
