Radio Weather Synopsis
National Weather Service Aberdeen SD
305 PM CDT Thu Oct 16 2025 /205 PM MDT Thu Oct 16 2025/

The threat for showers and thunderstorms continue mainly over the
James River Valley and eastward into west central MN through sunset.
No severe weather is anticipated, however, a couple of storms could
become strong with small hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph. Otherwise
rain showers will continue eastward ahead of the front through late
tonight and exiting our far eastern listening area around midnight
or so. Dry weather is then expected Friday with isolated chances of
rain over central SD Saturday.

Winds will be breezy tonight and Friday, with gusts between 25 to 35
mph, highest over north central SD and the Sisseton Hills. Winds
increase again Saturday out of the northwest, with gusts of 30 to 40
mph. This will lead to elevated fire danger over portions of central
South Dakota.

Lows tonight will range in the lower 40s to the mid 50s, coldest west
of the James River behind the cold front. Highs for Saturday will be
around normal, ranging in the 60s and lows in the 40s. Lows for Saturday night
will be near or at freezing ranging in the 30s.
