Radio Weather Synopsis
National Weather Service Aberdeen SD
320 PM CDT Wed Sep 3 2025 /220 PM MDT Wed Sep 3 2025/

High pressure will settle into the area tonight. Wildfire smoke near
the surface will thin out and stay confined to south central south
dakota overnight. Some of that smoke will filter back into central
and northeast South Dakota on Thursday, ahead of the next weather
system that will move through the area later in the day. A clipper
like system will track through the region Thursday afternoon and
Thursday night bringing a chance for showers and a few thunderstorms
to areas mainly east of the Missouri Valley. The strong cold front
responsible for this precip will usher in much cooler air on strong
northwest winds. Wind gusts will range between 45 to 55 mph Thursday
afternoon and early evening.

Lows tonight will fall into the low to mid 40s with a few upper 30s
possible across northeast south dakota and west central minnesota.
Highs on Thursday will warm into the mid 60s to low 70s east to the
mid 70s to lower 80s west.
