As high pressure continues to move away from the area, strong south
winds during the morning hours will top out between 25 and 35 mph
with some locally higher gusts over 40 mph in the favored downslope
areas up in the northeast of the state. Those winds will begin
dropping in the afternoon hours however. Temperatures today are
expected to top out 10 to 15 degrees above normal, or around the mid
70s. Readings are expected to fall into the 40s overnight.
