958 FNAK71 PAFC 151349 FWSAER Spot Forecast for Russian Jack...Anchorage Fire Department National Weather Service Anchorage AK 549 AM AKDT Tue Jul 15 2025 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0700 AKDT on July 15. .DISCUSSION... Any lingering scattered showers early this morning will taper off by mid to late morning as cloud cover also diminishes. A ridge of high pressure moving over the region today will yield clearing skies and drier conditions Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Winds will also remain generally light, becoming more westerly through late evening before becoming light and variable again overnight. Light and variable winds will become more northeasterly Wednesday morning as cloud cover again increases in advance of a frontal system moving from Kodiak Island north to the Kenai Peninsula. A period of light rain is possible by around noon Wednesday as precipitation lifts north ahead of the front. Any rainfall, however, is expected to be very light, likely o the order of a period of sprinkles yielding only a trace of accumulation. Light northeasterly winds Wednesday morning may shift and become southeasterly by mid to late afternoon as the front lifts north of Anchorage. There is still some uncertainty as to the magnitude of the winds, with stronger winds and gusts likely farther west of the forecast location. .TODAY...
