484 FNAK71 PAFC 150144 FWSAER Spot Forecast for Crow Pass Race...Alaska Mountain Rescue Group National Weather Service Anchorage AK 544 PM AKDT Mon Jul 14 2025 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0800 AKDT on July 15. .DISCUSSION...Overcast skies with the primary ceiling between 3000 and 5000 ft are expected for Tuesday. However, given recent rain over the area and the complexity of the mountain/valley circulation cycle, clouds around 2000 ft may develop throughout the morning and early afternoon as the valley warms. There is low confidence in ceilings above 2000 ft due to westerly flow against the Chugach on Tuesday, but if there is enough heating ceilings may become unrestricted by late afternoon. On Tuesday night into Wednesday a storm will approach the Alaska Peninsula, which will generate easterly flow over the forecast area. This will raise ceilings significantly, but will also introduce a strengthening easterly wind, particularly in the afternoon. Assuming clouds to lift out of the area overnight on Tuesday, Wednesday morning will likely have the most favorable flying conditions prior to the arrival of the wind in the afternoon. .TUESDAY...
