...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO 11 PM AKST
SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Northeast winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 80 mph
  expected.  Wind chill values falling to between -10 and -20F by
  Sunday evening.

* WHERE...Matanuska Valley.

* WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to 11 PM AKST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property, and
  cause power outages. Travel will be difficult. Cold temperatures
  combined with strong winds could cause frostbite on exposed skin
  in as little as 30 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Northeast winds will quickly develop this
  evening and overnight.  Areas of blowing snow are possible near
  and shortly after the onset of winds from this evening into
  tonight. Winds will be strongest near and after onset through
  Saturday. There may be a lull in the strongest winds between
  Saturday and Saturday night with a secondary peak likely on Sunday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around
or damaged by the wind. Prepare for the possibility of widespread
power outages. Use caution if you must drive.

SUNDAY...

* WHAT...North winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  Wind chill values falling to between -5 and -15F by Sunday evening.

* WHERE...Anchorage and NW Kenai Peninsula.  Strongest winds
  expected along the Knik Arm and West Anchorage and out along the
  coast of the northern Cook Inlet.

* WHEN...From 11 PM this evening to 11 PM AKST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few
  power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Northeast winds will quickly develop tonight
  and continue at varying intensity through Sunday night.  Areas of
  blowing snow are possible near and shortly after the onset of
  winds tonight.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
