...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON AKST TODAY...

* WHAT...Rain and freezing rain. Ice accumulation of up to a tenth
  of an inch.

* WHERE...Summit Lake to Hope and Turnagain Pass.

* WHEN...Until noon AKST today.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
  could impact the Thursday morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain will continue to fall across Turnagain
  Pass west to Hope and Summit Lake through this morning.
  Temperatures in the region are holding steady at 32 to 36 degrees.
  Rain falling onto snow covered or frozen surfaces may create
  hazardous travel conditions. Higher ice accumulations are possible
  at the top of Turnagain Pass and from the Hope cutoff to Hope.

* WHAT...Freezing rain and snow. Ice accumulation of a glaze up to a
  tenth of an inch. Snow accumulation of a trace to one half inch.

* WHERE...Anchorage and Eagle River (all elevations).

* WHEN...Until noon AKST today.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
  could impact the Thursday morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light precipitation is making it over the
  mountains this morning, mainly east of and along the Seward and
  Glenn Highways. A warm layer aloft is producing freezing rain, but
  should precipitation become heavy enough, snow may mix in at
  times. Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing later in
  the day, but rain falling onto snow covered or frozen surfaces may
  create hazardous travel conditions. Higher ice accumulations are
  possible up Hiland Road and Eagle River Rd near the Nature Center.

* WHERE...Western Kenai Peninsula. Ice accumulation most likely
  along the Sterling highway from Sterling to Jean Lake, and farther
  south from Ninilchik to Anchor Point.

* WHEN...Until noon AKST today.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions
  could impact the Thursday morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Little to no precipitation is expected to
  make it west to Kenai City or Nikiski.
