...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM AKDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Chena River Basin from Moose Creek Dam to the end of Chena
  Hot Springs Road.

* WHEN...Until 1000 PM AKDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some
  low-water crossings may become impassable. River and stream flows
  remain elevated. Ponding of water in areas is occurring or is
  imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 400 PM AKDT, gage reports indicated widespread moderate to
    heavy rain across the Chena River Basin over the past several
    days. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain has fallen this week.

  - High water levels will continue to work through the Fairbanks,
    Badger, and North Pole region along the Chena and Little Chena
    Rivers. Use extra caution on and along the rivers as water levels
    continue to run at near record to record levels for this time of
    year.

  - For Chena River below Hunts Creek near Two Rivers :
    At 3:00pm the stage was 16.0 feet.
    Flood Stage is 17.2 feet.
    Forecast: Water levels have crested and will gradually subside
    over the coming days.

    For Chena River below Moose Creek dam:
    At 3:00pm the stage was 24.4 feet.
    Flood Stage is 24.5 feet.
    Forecast: A crest around 25.1 feet is expected at 4:00am
    Saturday.

    For Chena River near Two Rivers:
    At 3:00pm the stage was 19.7 feet.
    Flood Stage is 19.5 feet.
    Forecast: Water levels have crested and will gradually subside
    over the coming days.
