.DISCUSSION...
High pressure over the area will bring hot, dry, windy conditions
as well as thunderstorms. High temperatures will remain in the
mid to upper 80s through the middle of the week. RH values dip
into the low 20s and teens across Interior Valleys. Sustained
northeast winds up to 15 mph will develop over the Yukon Flats,
White Mountains and near the Dalton Highway on Monday and Tuesday.
A Red Flag Warning is issued for hot, dry and windy conditions.
Waves of energy moving through the high pressure brings increased
thunderstorm chances. Monday and Tuesday will see widely
scattered thunderstorms across the Tanana Valley and Forty-Mile
Country with scattered thunderstorms west of Manley Hot Springs.
The thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday will likely continue late
into the evening and possibly overnight as there will be upper
level support to keep these thunderstorms going. Any thunderstorm
will have the potential to bring gusty, erratic winds, small hail,
frequent lightning and heavy rain though the chances for wetting
rain remains low overall.
