.DISCUSSION...As the thermal trough has moved north and east today,
isolated thunderstorms are beginning to pop with most occurring over
the surrounding higher terrain. Temperatures remain warm with widespread
70s. Highs may reach the low 80s in several areas. Min RH values around 20-25%
expected in the Eastern Yukon Flats and the Upper Tanana Valley while the
remainder of the Interior sits around 25-30%. Tomorrow, Min RHs increase
everywhere but the risk for thunderstorms is slightly higher with widely
scattered storms expected south of Minchumina and also from Eagle to Chicken.
The upward trend in storms continues through the week with Thursday and
Friday looking like big days for lighting with scattered storms possible.
