.DISCUSSION...Updated discussion due to the increased shower coverage.
While there will be peaks of sunshine, this sunshine is allowing
for a bit more instability than originally thought. This is the
root cause for the scattered showers that we`ve been seeing around
Fairbanks. Due to the peaks of sun, scattered showers likely will
persist through the afternoon and into the evening. Regardless,
the shower chances still increase in coverage tonight after
midnight, specifically from 4AM Sunday to 12PM Sunday. Southwest
winds will occasionally gust to 25 mph through about 10PM this
evening but weaken thereafter. Expect temperatures to be cool with
highs in the low 50s and lows in the low 40s. With gusty winds,
it will likely feel like the mid to upper 40s this afternoon and
near 40 tonight.
