...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM AKDT THIS EVENING...
...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 10 PM
AKDT THIS EVENING...
.DISCUSSION...
Dry and somewhat cooler conditions will be possible today, but
gusty southerly winds will continue at the fire site. These will
combine to produce high fire danger for which a Red Flag Warning
has been issued. Gusts could reach as high as about 50 mph this
afternoon, but should weaken tonight (which remaining stronger at
a few thousand feet above the ground for a bit longer). Highs will
reach into the mid 50s, with min RH values in the 20s. Winds are
likely to weaken overnight and into tomorrow morning. Conditions
will be warmer on Tuesday, reaching into the low 60s, with
continuing dry conditions, but decreasing winds will reduce the
fire weather potential. Similar conditions persist Wednesday, with
somewhat cooler and moister conditions possible late this week.
