.DISCUSSION...
A front pushes north across the region Sunday into Monday. As the
front passes over the region southerly winds increase with gusts
in the 15 to 25 mph range possible, most likely during peak mixing
in the afternoon. The southerly winds over the mountains south of
the fire will reinforce dry air above the fire limiting
precipitation potential. Chances of wetting rains remain fairly
low despite the front because of these southerly winds. This same
phenomena keeps the area slightly warmer and drier despite the
overall trend towards cooler and wetter weather following the
front. These southerly winds are expected to peak Monday afternoon
and then weaken overnight into Tuesday. Showers continue as the
low that spawned the front slowly weakens west of the fire through
much of the week.
