.DISCUSSION...
Showers and isolated thunderstorms expected near the fire
Saturday. Temperatures remain warm through Sunday with highs near
80. Southerly winds increase over the Alaska Range south of the
fire early Sunday. Gusty southerly winds may occasionally mix down
near the fire Sunday becoming most common around peak heating.
These gusts could range from 15 to 25 mph, with stronger gusts
possible, but they would be quite rare. Relative humidities bottom
out near 40 over the weekend. Cooler, more showery conditions are
expected to approach the region Monday, but southerly flow over
the mountains will limit precipitation over the fire. Chances of
wetting rain improve Tuesday as southerly winds weaken.
