.DISCUSSION...
Cooler and wetter pattern today as a front continues to move
inland from the Bering Sea. Isolated and scattered thunderstorms
are possible this afternoon/evening. These storms are likely to
produce wetting rains today into tonight, which will aid in
decreasing fire activity and smoky conditions. High temperatures
will cool to the upper 50s and low 60s through Wednesday. Min RH
values will remain above 55% through Wednesday. Winds will be out
of the southwest between 10 to 15 mph through Tuesday, with gusty
and erratic winds expected in higher terrain and when
thunderstorms are present. Ridgetop winds are expected to be
relatively strong with sustained speeds up to 30 mph out of the
southwest through Tuesday. High pressure returns on Wednesday with
warmer and drier conditions expected going into the weekend.
