...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 10 PM AKDT TUESDAY FOR
LIGHTNING...

The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Red Flag
Warning for lightning, which is in effect from noon to 10 PM AKDT
Tuesday.

* AFFECTED AREA...Upper Koyukuk Valley, Dalton Highway Summits
  and Yukon Flats.

* TIMING...From noon to 10 PM AKDT Tuesday.

* LIGHTNING ACTIVITY LEVEL...4.

* WINDS...Southwest 5 mph or less.

* HUMIDITY...As low as 30 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Highs in the lower 80s.

* IMPACTS...Frequent lightning can promote a few fire starts. Hot
  and dry conditions may lead to rapid spread of fires.
  Thunderstorms will come with heavy rain, frequent lightning and
  erratic wind.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are occurring or will
occur which could lead to the development of large and dangerous
fires. It is directed toward fire agencies, and through them, to
the public.

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this Red Flag Warning.
