...HIGH WIND WATCH IS CANCELLED...

The track of the low has shifted further west and the High Wind
Watch has been cancelled for the Ketchikan Gateway Borough and
Anette Island. However, strong wind gusts are still expected
starting early Wednesday morning and persisting throughout all of
Wednesday, with the strongest gusts up to 50 mph expected between
9am to 3pm.

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO 3 PM AKST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
  expected.

* WHERE...City and Borough of Sitka.

* WHEN...From 9 AM to 3 PM AKST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...High winds could blow around unsecured objects,
  damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be
  difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A strong front will push into the southern
  half of the panhandle through early Wednesday morning, bringing
  a long duration of strong wind gusts up to 50 mph for Baranof
  Island through the majority of Wednesday. The strongest wind
  gusts, up to 60 mph, are expected between 9 am to 3 pm
  Wednesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People are urged to secure vessels and loose objects that could
be blown around or damaged by the wind.

WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
  expected.

* WHERE...Prince of Wales Island.

* WHEN...From 9 AM to 6 PM AKST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...High winds will blow around unsecured objects and
  may damage property and cause power outages. Travel will be
  difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A strong front will push into the southern
  half of the panhandle through early Wednesday morning, bringing
  a long duration of strong wind gusts up to 50 mph for Prince of
  Wales Island through the majority of Wednesday. The strongest
  wind gusts, up to 60 mph, are expected between 9 am to 3 pm
  Wednesday. Forecast challenge for PoW will be the duration of
  the strong winds and the warning for PoW could be extended
  further into Wednedsay evening as the front stalls over the
  area.
