...POTENTIAL FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW ALONG THE HAINES AND KLONDIKE
HIGHWAYS...

A series of weather fronts tracking across the AK Panhandle Sunday
through Tuesday have the potential to produce impactful snow
accumulations for the Haines and Klondike Highways.

Highest probability for accumulating snow will be Sunday and
Monday nights. Varying snow levels between sea level and 3000 feet
with each advancing front will cause precipitation type to shift
from rain to snow and back again resulting in uncertainty in snow
totals. Other locations closer to sea level will start as mainly
rain Sunday with some mix of snow and rain Monday night into
Tuesday.

For the Haines Highway, snow will fall mainly from mile post 16
to the border. 12-hour snow amounts of 2 to 4 inches for Sunday
night through Tuesday morning are possible.

Along the Klondike Highway, snow will fall mainly from mile post
8 to White Pass. 12-hour snow amounts of 1 to 5 inches for Sunday
night through Tuesday morning are possible.

Travel through these areas during these times could be difficult.
