PASQUOTANK...EASTERN PERQUIMANS AND SOUTHEASTERN CURRITUCK COUNTIES
THROUGH 1115 PM EDT...
At 1015 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Chapanoke to near Weeksville to near
Newfoundland. Movement was east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and heavy rain.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Elizabeth City, Camden, Elizabeth City State University, Grandy,
Weeksville, Chapanoke, Nixonton, Point Harbor, Shiloh, Indiantown,
Corolla, Burgess, Old Trap, Whitehall Shores, Pasquotank, Poplar
Branch, Spot, Parkville, Jacocks, and Spences Corner.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
