The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Central Caroline County in north central Virginia...
  Northwestern Essex County in east central Virginia...

* Until 1230 AM EDT.

* At 1140 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from Fort Walker to Bowling Green to near Ladysmith,
  moving east at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect wind damage
           to trees and powerlines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Bowling Green, Milford, Port Royal, Fort Walker, Rappahannock
  Academy, Golansville, Sparta, Supply, and Penola.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning
is one of nature`s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
