825 WHAK42 PAFC 052328 CFWALU Coastal Hazard Message National Weather Service Anchorage AK 328 PM AKDT Sun Oct 5 2025 AKZ755-070200- /O.CON.PAFC.CF.A.0002.251007T1500Z-251008T1200Z/ Kuskokwim Delta Coast and Nunivak Island- 328 PM AKDT Sun Oct 5 2025 ...COASTAL FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE TUESDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Water levels as high as 1.5 to 3.5 feet above the normal highest tide line. * WHERE...Along the Kuskokwim Delta Coast and Nunivak Island. * WHEN...Tuesday morning to early Wednesday morning, coinciding with high tides Tuesday morning and again late Tuesday night. * IMPACTS...Coastal flooding of low lying areas and erosion are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Persistent southerly to southwesterly winds will range from 45 mph to 55 mph Monday night through Wednesday morning. This will lead to coastal impacts such as storm surge and flooding. Elevated water levels are likely during the high tides Tuesday morning across Nunivak Island and Mekoryuk and Tuesday night along the Kuskokwim Bay Coast. Coastal hazards also include wave heights ranging from 8 to 12 feet beginning Tuesday afternoon before slowly subsiding Wednesday morning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A coastal flood watch means that conditions favorable for flooding are expected to develop.
