.DISCUSSION...
A strengthening low will develop off of the Kamchatka coastline
south of the Gulf of Anadyr this afternoon around 1002 mb,
deepening to ~1000 mb just south of St. Matthew Island Friday
morning and eventually bottoming out in the Norton Sound Saturday
evening at ~997 mb. For the vessel, south-southwesterly winds
tonight will become north-northwest tomorrow as the storm center passes
to the east. There may be a brief period of confused seas Friday
morning as southerly swell from the past day interacts with
developing northwesterly swell. Wind waves and swell will then
become uniform in direction through Saturday morning out of the
northwest. Rain is expected through Friday morning. Higher
pressure behind the storm may lead to fog development. A stronger storm
develops in the Gulf of Anadyr and moves into the Strait on Monday. This
this storm will be capable of widespread 25 to 35 kt by Sunday.
