Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches in the most persistent snow bands. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will lead to blowing and drifting snow and reduced visibility. * WHERE...Northern Herkimer County. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Periods of light snow are expected today through Tuesday night. A lake effect snow band will then lift northward into northern Herkimer County on Wednesday before tapering off Wednesday night. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
