...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS MORNING TO
1 AM EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and
  9 inches, with higher amounts of 9 to 12 inches in the southern
  Green Mountains of Vermont.

* WHERE...Portions of western Massachusetts, east central and
  eastern New York, and southern Vermont.

* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 1 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult to
  impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and
  evening commutes today.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Moderate to heavy snow will impact the
  evening commute today. Snowfall rates of 0.5" to 1" are expected
  and may exceed 1" per hour in some areas. Caution is advised for
  all motorists.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

TO 1 AM EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 6
  inches.

* WHERE...Portions of northwestern Connecticut and east central and
  eastern New York.

* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 1 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
  conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes today.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will mix with and eventually change rain
  across much of Dutchess and Litchfield counties this afternoon
  into early evening. This is where snow accumulations will be
  lowest.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling.

Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while
driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken
on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and
slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
