.KEY MESSAGES...
Issued at 1031 PM CST Mon Nov 2 2026

- Dry weather expected for several days

 - Another windy day Tuesday but not as strong as Monday

 - Cooler fall weather for several days

&&

.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Wednesday night)
Issued at 1031 PM CST Mon Nov 2 2026

Strong mid level low pressure and associated trough moving through
the southern plains. The wrap around from the low is moving across
the panhandle region with clouds and diminishing showers as well as
much cooler temperatures behind the cold front. The low is taking a
more eastward motion at this time and expect to see the
precipitation come to an end as the low continues to move east. Much
cooler temperatures have moved in behind the cold front with temps
at this hour ranging from the upper 40s (over the OK Panhandle and
far northern TX) to the lower 50s elsewhere. High temperatures
Tuesday may not get out of the 50`s across the panhandles except for
the far southeast. Another mid level system is forecast to move
across the area Wednesday but most areas will remain dry as a lack
of moisture will preclude precipitation. The only exception would be
the far northern panhandles where there will be a low chance of
precip late Wed night/early Thu morning.

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday through next Monday)
Issued at 1031 PM CST Mon Nov 2 2026

Pleasant fall weather is expected for the next several days. A cold
front is progged to move through again late Wednesday and that will
drop high temps on Thursday back into the upper 50`s to low 60`s. By
the end of the weekend highs will start to slowly climb into the
upper 60`s and lower 70s.

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1149 PM CST Mon Nov 2 2026

The upper level low and trough are slowly moving eastward. Our
TAF sites are on the backside of this low and there is a channel
of strong surface winds behind the low from eastern CO into the
eastern TX panhandle. GUY will be in the core of the of the
strongest surface winds overnight running 39-44kt. DHT and AMA
will be on the edge of that core of winds with speeds of 30-35kt.
Light showers and MVFR cigs will persist at GUY overnight but the
showers should be ending around 09Z. DHT and AMA will have VFR
conditions into Tuesday morning.
