Issued at 348 AM EDT Sat Aug 30 2025 High pressure centered overhead will make for a pleasant end to August. After a chilly start, today will bring plenty of sunshine with daytime highs looking top out in the low to mid 70s. Skies stay mostly clear into tonight as the high pressure remains overhead. While radiational cooling will once again allow temperatures to fall efficiently, the moderating airmass should keep lows in the 40s to near 50. Overall, today looks like a quiet and pleasant day across northern Michigan, setting the stage for a warm and sunny holiday weekend. && .LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/... Issued at 348 AM EDT Sat Aug 30 2025 High pressure holds strong through the holiday weekend, keeping the weather quiet with moderating temperatures. Sunday through Tuesday will feel more like summer again, with highs in the mid to upper 70s and some spots pushing near 80 Monday and Tuesday. A more significant pattern change arrives midweek as a strong trough digs out of Canada and its attendant cold front swing across the Great Lakes. Showers and a few embedded thunderstorms look likely Wednesday into Wednesday night with the systems aforementioned front. Behind it, a much cooler airmass surges in, with highs Thursday struggling to reach the 50s for some... Unseasonably cool and unsettled conditions look to persist into the end of the work week. && .AVIATION /12Z TAFS THROUGH 12Z SUNDAY/... Issued at 602 AM EDT Sat Aug 30 2025 Patchy FG/BR across parts of northern Michigan (including MBL) will dissipate close to 12Z as diurnal mixing ensues. Afterwards, VFR conditions are expected at all TAF sites through this evening. Light northwest winds around 5 kts will be in place today, allowing lake breeze formation to push inland from Lake Huron later this afternoon. Patchy FG/BR will be possible again late tonight -- with MBL being the most likely TAF site to experience VSBY reductions. && .APX WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
