.DISCUSSION... Changing weather conditions anticipated through
Monday, as a cold front moves through the Straits region. Winds
may be out of the southwest at the start of the forecast period,
but will shift to the northwest through the morning and into the
afternoon. There will be some stronger gusts with this frontal
passage, perhaps in the order of 20 to 25 knots. Once this front
clears in the morning hours, anticipation is that winds will taper
quite considerably in the wake of the frontal passage through the
afternoon, with that trend carrying through the remainder of the
forecast period.

Showery activity is a solid bet through the day Monday as well...
with shower chances lingering throughout the forecast period. As
it currently stands, the best shot for showers will be Monday
morning into the afternoon in conjunction with the frontal
passage. Additional, albeit lessening with time, chances for
showers will carry through Monday night, before shower coverage
decreases considerably into Tuesday. As it currently stands,
thunder chances look quite minimal through the forecast period
with the passage of this front.

Temperatures will be cooling throughout the forecast period,
starting well into the 60s Monday morning, falling into the lower
60s by Monday afternoon. Overnight lows Monday night in the 40s to
near 50... with temperatures on Tuesday holding in the upper 50s
to near 60. Waves will generally be 2ft or less during the
forecast period, though higher wind and waves will be possible
south of Mackinac Island and into the more open waters of the
Straits and northern Lake Huron. Visibilities will largely be
unrestricted outside of rain showers, though certainly may
decrease in and around any rain showers.
