...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN LEELANAU...BENZIE...
WESTERN WEXFORD...SOUTHWESTERN GRAND TRAVERSE AND MANISTEE COUNTIES
THROUGH 515 AM EDT...

At 408 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 13 miles northwest of Frankfort to near Mears
SP. Movement was east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Traverse City, Manistee, Frankfort, Thompsonville, Empire, Beulah,
Arcadia, Bingham, Sherman, Buckley, Eastlake, Benzonia, Kaleva,
Cedar, Onekama, Mesick, Elberta, Honor, Bear Lake, and Lake Ann.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 AM EDT for
parts of northern Michigan.
