...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON
TO 1 PM EST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected, especially later tonight. Total snow
  accumulations between 5 and 8 inches.

* WHERE...Alcona, Arenac, Gladwin, Iosco, and Ogemaw Counties.

* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 1 PM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

If travel is necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared
for sudden changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you
and the motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your
destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially
cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is
winterized and in good working order.

1 PM EST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected, especially later tonight. Total snow
  accumulations between 8 and 12 inches in areas along the US 23
  corridor between Rogers City and Alpena. A general 5 to 8 inches
  of snow is expected across the rest of Alpena and Presque Isle
  counties.

* WHERE...Alpena and Presque Isle Counties.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 1 PM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult
  due to buildup of snow / slush on area thoroughfares.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is necessary, proceed with caution and be prepared for
sudden changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected, especially later tonight. Total snow
  accumulations between 7 and 12 inches east of Interstate 75 in
  Mackinac County and eastward into the southeast corner of Chippewa
  County, including Cedarville, Goetzville, De Tour Village, and
  Drummond Island. A general 4 to 7 inches of snow is expected west
  of Interstate 75 in eastern Mackinac County.

* WHERE...Eastern Mackinac and Southeast Chippewa Counties.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 1 PM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult
  due to buildup of snow / slush on area thoroughfares.
