.DISCUSSION...
Cool and rainy weather is found across the forecast area
today. Scattered showers across western and portions of central
North Dakota will diminish from north to south through the
afternoon into the early overnight period. Highs this afternoon
are mainly in the 60s, with some upper 50s across the west.
Minimum relative humidity will drop as low as 50 percent across
portions of central North Dakota. Light east to southeast winds
this afternoon will become light and variable overnight across
central North Dakota. Low temperatures tonight will mainly be in
the 40s, with overnight humidity recovery only as low as 90
percent.
Gradually warming and mainly dry conditions are expected through
the coming workweek. High temperatures both Monday and Tuesday
are broadly forecast in the 60s and 70s, with minimum relative
humidity dropping only as low as 40 percent either day. Light
south to southeast winds around 5 to 10 MPH are expected on
Monday, becoming breezy out of the south around 15 to 25 MPH and
gusting as high as 35 MPH on Tuesday. Gusty south winds remain on
Wednesday, but mostly cloudy to cloudy conditions with scattered
showers and a few thunderstorms will broadly keep humidities above
50 percent. With highs peaking into the mid 70s to mid 80s
Thursday and Friday, afternoon humidities are anticipated drop
into the 30s over southwest. Currently winds are expected to be
relatively light on Thursday, but Friday could be another breezy
to windy day.
