.DISCUSSION...
A warm day is on tap for Monday, with highs in the 80s to lower
90s. A frontal boundary will push into western North Dakota during
the morning, then into central North Dakota around mid-day before
stalling. Winds will become westerly to northwesterly around 15
to 25 mph behind the boundary, with the strongest winds over
northwest into far southwest North Dakota where gusts of 25 to 35
mph are possible. Dry air will also pull in behind the front, with
minimum humidity values dipping into the upper teens to upper 20s
over much of southwest and parts of northwest North Dakota. Near
critical fire weather conditions will be possible over parts of
western North Dakota. Over central North Dakota, higher humidity
values are expected.
Tuesday will see stronger winds, becoming northwest at 20 to 30
mph with gusts to 40 mph. Temperatures will be a bit cooler, with
highs in the mid 70s to mid 80s. Minimum humidity values will
also be higher, ranging from the upper 20s to upper 30s over
southwest North Dakota, to the 40s and 50s over most other
locations.
For mid to late week, winds are not forecast to be as strong as
on Tuesday, but there could be breezy conditions at times. Daily
minimum humidity is forecast to generally remain in the 25 to 35
percent range across the western half of the state.
