.DISCUSSION...
Breezy south-southeasterly winds 15 to 25 mph for much of North
Dakota this afternoon and evening. Southwestern portion of state
will continue to see 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph in
southwest North Dakota. Minimum relative humidity values will
range from around 30 percent to around 40 percent.
Rain showers will move through the area tonight into early Monday
before departing. There is a possibility that southwest into
parts of south central North Dakota will see the rain depart early
enough to dry out fuels with humidity values dipping into the
30s, with some upper 20s possible over far southwest North Dakota.
A frontal boundary will shift through on Monday, with winds
turning westerly in the morning over western North Dakota, and in
the afternoon central. Winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 55 mph
will be possible over western North Dakota, 20 to 35 mph with
gusts to 50 mph central. Therefore, near critical to critical
fire weather conditions will be possible over parts of southwest
North Dakota. Notably light winds are then expected for Tuesday.
Rain chances will return by the middle of the week.
