Another hot and windy day is in store for the central and eastern
Dakotas and western Minnesota today, with highs in the upper 80s
to mid 90s. Areas to the west will be much cooler, but with highs
still above normal in the 70s. A significant cool down is then on
the way for the second half of the week, with highs transitioning
to the 50s and 60s from west to east Wednesday through Friday. The
below normal temperatures will continue through the weekend, which
will likely feature overnight lows in the 30s.

Showers and thunderstorms will begin spreading across eastern
Montana and the western Dakotas tonight, then slowly shift and
expand into central and eastern parts of the region Wednesday and
Thursday. A few strong to severe storms are possible with the
initial development late tonight, and on Wednesday afternoon and
evening across the central and eastern Dakotas.
