A cold front passing through the northern Plains today will
produce a sharp temperature divide across the region, with highs
in the 60s northwest up to the 80s and lower 90s in southeastern
South Dakota and Minnesota. Widespread rain showers are expected
this afternoon and overnight, with moderate to heavy rainfall
possible in eastern Montana and the Dakotas. Isolated
thunderstorms are also possible in the Dakotas and northern
Minnesota this evening.

Much cooler temperatures continue to spread eastward through the
weekend and into early next week, with highs mainly in the 50s and
60s for Monday and Tuesday. Overnight lows are forecast to drop
near to below freezing Monday and Tuesday mornings in eastern
Montana and western North Dakota. Mainly dry conditions are
expected through Wednesday, before chances for rain increase
across the west Thursday and Friday.
