The highest chances for snow extend from northwest to southeast North Dakota, falling from late this afternoon through Tuesday evening. The snow combined with strong winds could cause blowing and drifting snow across much of the region. The strongest winds are expected during the day Tuesday, and could be very strong in South Dakota where less snow is anticipated. High temperatures this afternoon will still reach the mid 30s to upper 40s. But by Wednesday, highs will only be in the 20s for most areas. The cooling trend is expected to continue through the holiday weekend, with highs mainly in the teens by the end of the weekend, and lows in the single digits above and below zero. Wednesday through Thanksgiving day are expected to remain dry, but low to medium chances for lighter snow return to the forecast on Friday and persist through the weekend across western and southern portions of the region. $$
