An intense Alberta Clipper will move across the Northern Plains
late tonight through Tuesday, bringing impactful winter weather
and high winds to the region. A wintry mix of precipitation
including freezing rain will impact much of the region, with the
most significant freezing rain expected in northwest, central,
and eastern North Dakota and northeast South Dakota. There will
also be accumulating snow and blowing snow across southern
Manitoba, eastern North Dakota, and into Minnesota Tuesday and
Tuesday night. High winds gusting up to 65 mph are expected in
many parts of the Northern Plains Tuesday and Tuesday night.

Lows tonight across the region will range from zero to 5 above in
northeast North Dakota and northern Minnesota, to around 30 in
southeast Montana and western South Dakota. Highs Tuesday will
range from the 20s in northern Minnesota, to the 40s in eastern
Montana, southwest North Dakota, and western South Dakota.

Very cold weather is expected across most of the region behind
this clipper system from Wednesday through the upcoming weekend.
Light snow is also expected across parts of the region Wednesday
and Thursday.
