...Northwestern Jefferson County and Mt. Olive Initial Survey
Assessment from November 25th Severe Storms...

A National Weather Service Storm Survey Team surveyed damage
across northwestern Jefferson County today from thunderstorms
that occurred during the early morning hours of November 25th. NWS
Meteorologists have determined that two distinct tracks of damage
were consistent with weak tornadoes that were spawned from
circulations that developed within a bowing line of severe
storms.

The first track began across far western Jefferson County
northeastward to Graysville, moving across I-22 and U.S. 78. EF-0
damage was noted with this track.

As straight-line wind damage of 60 to 70mph was also occurring
as the bowing line of storms moved east, a second circulation
developed in Mount Olive just north of Mt. Olive Elementary
school. A concentrated area of damage was observed along Mount
Olive Rd consistent with a low-end EF-1 tornado that tracked
northeast to I-65.

Additional, more detailed information for these tornadoes will be
forthcoming within another Public Information Statement later
tonight and documented within a webpage over the coming days.
