However, levels are expected to remain below established flood stages, and any overflow along the river should be of minor nature. The Alabama River at Montgomery. * At 7:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 21.8 feet. * Action stage is 26.0 feet. * Flood stage is 35.0 feet. * Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 27.6 feet Sunday morning. * Impact...At 26.0 feet...Some flooding of low lying areas and secondary roads begins in the Montgomery area. Flooding of the golf course at Maxwell Air Force Base and portions of River Road occurs at stages around 30 feet and higher. The Tallapoosa River at The Tallapoosa Water Plant. * At 7:15 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 4.9 feet. * Action stage is 15.0 feet. * Flood stage is 25.0 feet. * Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.7 feet early Saturday afternoon. * Impact...At 15.0 feet...Low areas near the junction with the Coosa River begin to overflow. Extensive flooding of low lying areas begins between US 231 and the river at stages of 15 to 25 feet. The Tallapoosa River at Milstead. * At 7:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 5.9 feet. * Action stage is 15.0 feet. * Flood stage is 40.0 feet. * Forecast...The river will rise to 19.9 feet early Friday afternoon. It will then fall to 19.2 feet Friday evening. It will rise to 20.7 feet early Saturday afternoon. It will then fall again and remain below flood stage. * Impact...At 15.0 feet...Overflow of pasture lands occurs. Cattle may need to be moved if higher stages are forecast. Another statement will be issued by Wednesday evening, or sooner if conditions warrant. Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or your local media for later statements concerning this event. It is emphasized that these forecasts are based on rainfall that has already occurred and on additional rainfall expected during the next 48 hours. If more rainfall than is currently forecast occurs it may become necessary to revise these forecasts upward. $$
