.SHORT TERM /Through Friday Night/...

The pattern will remain progressive during the short term but
overall remain quiet. An upper low over northern Nevada early
this morning will move east today as a shortwave ridge builds
overhead. Skies will clear this morning with lighter winds and
highs near to slightly above normal. Clouds will increase
tonight ahead of a weak upper level trough moving through on
Thursday. A 10-30% chance of showers will develop across the
north with minimal precipitation amounts expected. A dusting of
snow is possible above 4500-6000 feet. This system will cool
temperatures a few degrees and bring an uptick in wind Thursday
afternoon. A ridge of high pressure will build on Friday
bringing slight warming and periods of high clouds. Otherwise,
winds will be light with no precipitation expected. Patchy fog
will develop each night this week in sheltered basins.

.LONG TERM /Saturday through Wednesday/...

The pattern through the extended will feature a broad upper
level ridge extending across the central CONUS while a deep
trough becomes established off the Pacific Northwest coast. The
ridge and southwesterly flow aloft through the period will push
temperatures to around 10 degrees above normal, with valley
highs generally reaching the 60s. Breezy southeast winds will
develop over the weekend as a system clips the Pacific
Northwest. However, precipitation will remain north of our area
with only periods of high clouds. Dry conditions will persist
into early next week, but a 10-30% chance of precipitation and
breezy conditions will return on Wednesday as a strong system
approaches the coast.

VFR with mostly clear skies this afternoon. Mid to high clouds
increasing tonight, with isolated to scattered showers near KBKE
Thu/AM, low VFR to MVFR in showers. Surface winds: SW-NW 5-10
kt, becoming variable less than 10 kt this evening. Winds aloft
at 10kft MSL: Variable 5-15 kt.

KBOI...VFR with increasing mid to high clouds this evening.
Surface winds: NW 5-10 kt this afternoon and SE 4-8 kt tonight.
