The gorgeous Labor Day will continue with dry and sunny weather
with near normal temperatures.

The ridge aloft will continue to be over the Intermountain West on
Tuesday and Wednesday. With temperatures warming to the mid to
upper 80s across the plains on Tuesday, steep lapse rates will
allow for a few showers and isolated weak storms to form mainly
over the higher terrain. A cold front will bring in better
moisture on Wednesday but there will be less instability.
Isolated showers and weak storms will again be focused over the
higher terrain.

Despite the cold front moving through during the day on Wednesday,
downslope winds and warmer air aloft will help to warm conditions
on Thursday making it the warmest day of the week. 700 mb
temperatures will be 14-15 C across the Denver metro and the upper
80s are forecast for highs across the I-25 corridor and plains.
Some of the hotter areas may see 90 for a high.

Another cold front will come racing through our area on Thursday
night which will lead to cooler conditions on Friday. Highs may
stay in the 70s in the post-cold front airmass along with easterly
winds during the day.

Models begin to differ substantially by next weekend. Some models
have tropical moisture from remnants of a tropical storm over the
eastern Pacific Ocean heading towards Colorado. While this
solution only has about a 10% chance of occurring, it could lead
to widespread rainfall. Other models keep a ridge over Colorado
with temperatures increasing above normal. This is the most likely
solution and by the end of the weekend, there may be enough
moisture for scattered showers and storms to develop.

Normal diurnal winds will prevail DIA overnight and on Tuesday.
Some of the models are showing -SHRA at the airport Tuesday
afternoon. I left it out this update as most models show nothing.
There will be no ceiling issues.
