...CHERRY CREEK DAM SEDIMENT FLUSH OPERATION WILL CAUSE HIGHER THAN
NORMAL FLOWS AND MINOR FLOODING ON LOW-LEVEL TRAILS AND CROSSINGS...


WHAT...Annual Cherry Creek Dam sediment flush operation causing
higher than normal flows.


WHERE...Cherry Creek from the base of Cherry Creek Dam to the
confluence with the South Platte River near the Little Raven Street
Bridge.

WHEN...Wednesday May 20, 2026 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. High flows
will take an additional 6 to 7 hours to move through the system to
the South Platte River.

IMPACTS...the high flows will cause higher than normal creek stages
and potential flooding of the bike paths and stream crossings. the
public is urged not to attempt to cross the creek during this event.
Downstream trails may be impacted into the evening.
