.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Monday...Light snow showers will
continue for the mountains south of I-70 and crest of Palmer
Divide this evening, with accumulations of T-3" (<1" for Palmer
Divide). Highest amounts will be confined to the ridgetops and
high passes. For the plains, rain showers will persists through
Monday morning, with the bulk of the precipitation along the
eastern plains. Expect generally dry conditions Monday afternoon,
ahead of an approaching system. Gusty winds up to 45 mph are
possible late Monday through Tuesday morning for the mountains,
foothills and northern plains. However, RH values will stay below
critical thresholds. Light snow showers with minimal
accumulations are possible overnight Monday for the northern
mountains. Smoke dispersal conditions will be Poor this evening,
and Fair to Very Good for the mountains on Monday.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday through Friday...A cold front will
bring below normal temperatures across the forecast area for
Tuesday. However, this will not last long as an upper level ridge
will warm temperatures back up Wednesday through Friday. Dry
conditions are expected, except for the northern mountains, which
could see light orographic snow showers throughout the week. No
critical fire weather is expected, as winds will be generally
light (except for breezy winds along ridgetops) and minimum RH
values will stay above 20%. Smoke dispersal conditions will be
Fair to Very Good across the forecast area (except for the
southern foothills) on Tuesday, and Fair to Very Good for the
mountains, but Poor across the plains Wednesday through Friday.
