.DISCUSSION...Rest of today through Tuesday...
Dry weather will resume for this period as a dominating ridge of
high pressure centers itself over the Four Corners region and
Desert Southwest. No precipitation is forecast, except for
isolated showers or a weak storm over the mountains late Sunday or
Monday, and then a slight chance of showers with the passage of a
weak disturbance Monday night and Tuesday.
Southerly winds will gust to 25-35 mph on the plains Friday, but
humidity readings will be well above thresholds. Saturday will be
warmer and drier across the plains, and a few spots will see
elevated to near critical conditions (mainly near the Wyoming
border) as northerly winds gust to around 25 mph behind a dry cool
front. Otherwise, no significant winds are forecast for this
period as the ridge of high pressure means lighter winds aloft.
Smoke dispersal is forecast to become good in most areas outside
of the I-25 Corridor and lower foothills Friday, and then again on
Sunday. Both Saturday and Monday should see good smoke dispersal
in almost all areas.
