.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Tuesday...Southeast wind gusts across
the plains will slowly decrease this afternoon and evening.
However, cross-barrier flow over the mountains will promote wind
gusts up to 50 mph along the ridge tops overnight and into
Tuesday morning. During the day Tuesday, winds will decrease to 30
mph across the higher terrain. Elevated fire weather conditions
possible across southern mountains, South Park, and the northern
plains due to the winds and low RH values in the teens. Smoke
dispersal conditions will be Fair to Excellent in the mountains
and northern plains and Poor for the central and eastern plains.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday night through Saturday...It will be
windy each day in the mountains this week. A system will bring
moisture to the mountains on Thursday, keeping minimum RH values
in the 30-40% range. Light orographic snow showers are possible
(30-40% chance) for Park Range, with little accumulations expected
at highest elevations. Another system will arrive Saturday,
bringing widespread 30+ mph wind gusts. Precipitation chances are
limited to the Park Range. Smoke dispersal conditions will be Fair
to Very Good each day.
