.DISCUSSION...Today through Thursday...
Today, the plains will see breezy conditions this afternoon with
gusts of 20-30 mph. Minimum humidity values will drop to 20-25%
over most of the plains, with slightly higher values over the
mountains and far northeast corner of the state. There could be
some patchy elevated fire weather conditions on the plains this
afternoon. Isolated to scattered showers/storms can be expected in
the afternoon and early evening, mainly along/north of I-76
corridor.
Monday will see slight cooling along with a bump in both humidity
levels and shower/storm chances in the afternoon and evening. The
highest precipitation chances during the day will be in the high
country, with precipitation chances slowly increasing for the
plains through the evening.
A storm system is still expected to approach the area Tuesday and
Wednesday. The storm system could continue affecting our area on
Thursday. This will support cooler temperatures and a chance of
more widespread precipitation. However, there is still uncertainty
regarding the exact track of this system. The highest odds of
wetting rains will be roughly along/south of I-76 on the plains
and along/south of I-70 corridor in the mountains. The heaviest
precipitation will likely be over the southeastern portions of our
area as it stands now. Overall, light winds, high humidity
levels, and potential precipitation will continue to keep fire
weather concerns minimized through this period.
