.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Warm and dry conditions are
expected today underneath a strong upper level ridge. Humidity
values are forecast to drop to as low as 15 percent this
afternoon. Winds will remain light with wind gusts remaining under
20mph across the region. Overnight humidity recovery will be good
across the plains and mountain valleys, but in the 35-55 percent
range across the foothills and Denver metro. Modest mixing heights
and light winds should keep smoke dispersal poor to fair across
most of the Front Range and plains, with fair to good dispersal
across the higher elevations.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Thursday through Sunday...Thursday
through Sunday will be warm and dry with near record high
temperatures on Thursday and Sunday. Cooler temperatures will
arrive Monday only for temperatures to warm up again during the
middle of next week. Minimum relative humidity will drop to the
teens each day across the plains and lower foothills. The vast
majority of the time there will be weak winds. As a result, no
critical fire weather conditions are expected. Smoke dispersal
will be limited by light winds but should be fair to good most
days.
