.DISCUSSION...Rest of today through Tuesday...
Strong to severe thunderstorms expected across the plains this
afternoon, with an increase in low-level moisture keeping fire
weather conditions minimal. For Tuesday, critical fire weather
conditions are expected across the plains due to min RH values
dipping to the high single digits, with widespread southwest
winds gusting up to 35-45 mph at times. The urban corridor and
foothills could also see elevated fire weather conditions, however
green-up should keep concerns at bay for now.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday night through Saturday...
Another round of elevated to critical fire weather conditions are
possible for the plains on Wednesday, however winds should be
slightly weaker, with strongest gusts confined to the northern
plains. Localized elevated fire weather conditions are also
possible on Thursday and Friday for the plains, however winds
will be the limiting factor as gusts should be more localized.
