Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
259 PM MDT Tue Jun 18 2024

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Wednesday...Cooler temperatures today
have helped to reduce fire threats across the region. Tonight will
bring chances for rain showers to portions of the plains that will
linger into tomorrow and become more widespread across the
forecast area, with increasing chances for thunderstorms after
noon Wednesday. With increasing moisture and cooler temperatures
in place, no critical fire weather conditions are expected.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Wednesday night through Sunday...
Temperatures are expected to start a warming trend Thursday, and
then rise to to above normal readings this weekend as an upper
level ridge eventually builds into Colorado. Afternoon shower and
storm coverage is expected to be greatest Thursday and Friday, and
then decreasing this weekend. Humidity values are also expected to
decrease with minimums dropping into the teens toward Sunday or
Monday in the lower elevations. However, those lower humidity
readings will not coincide with gusty winds, and thus critical
fire weather conditions are not expected through this period.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
